7 Waves Community Radio is at present based within Leasowe Community Centre in Leasowe, Wirral, Merseyside.

We will soon be running three 12 week  Radio Production courses per year, students learn about all aspects of the radio industry from the history of radio,  editing, writing radio commercials, voiceover’s and presentation skills.

The students also learn about interviewing, how to make radio jingles and get to use industry standard radio equipment.

At the end of each course students are given the chance to broadcast live on the air on 7 Waves Community Radio 92.1 which is Wirral’s first Community Radio station .

The station will be moving into a new media centre in Summer 2008, which will have two radio training studios, two broadcast studios and a live room for local bands to perform.

7 Waves Community Radio won a five year licence back in May 2006, we started this licence on March 1st 2008 @ 12am.

When 7 Waves Community Radio first went on air in August 2003 the station imaging was what we call “In House Production,

Then in February 2004 we went for something a bit more up-lifting and professional. We came up with the slogan “Live Across the Wirral”. We also brought in a new voiceover artist.

From March 1st 2008 the station had a whole new sound provided by Music 4.
